Farfetch, a leading global luxury fashion marketplace, is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel, Regulatory (APAC) to join its strategic Legal team in Porto. In this unique opportunity, you will lead regulatory matters across the APAC region (Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, Taiwan, Mainland China, South Korea, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand), providing high-quality strategic legal advice on complex international regulations. Working as a true business partner, you will advise on local regulatory frameworks including payments, digital regulation, consumer protection, and competition law, while identifying and mitigating risks across multiple operational territories. You will oversee payments-related matters in APAC, develop regulatory strategies, engage with local regulators, and supervise legal counsel based in mainland China. Your responsibilities include tracking new regulatory requirements, negotiating and drafting commercial contracts, building compliance processes and tools, liaising with external law firms, and supporting the Head of Legal and VP of Legal on critical compliance matters. This role requires someone commercially minded, intellectually curious, and hands-on, with the ability to quickly understand and apply new sets of international laws while managing a broad portfolio of regulatory matters in a fast-moving, innovative business environment.
Responsabilidades
- Provide proactive, strategic and pragmatic advice on managing legal risks in the external business or regulatory environment
- Advise on the local regulatory framework, including payments, digital regulation, consumer protection and competition law in APAC
- Track and assess existing and new regulatory requirements for the Farfetch Group, and advise on their implementation
- Identify, monitor and evaluate relevant regulatory risks and enforcement trends, and take proactive steps to mitigate these
- Develop strategies for, and engage with, relevant regulators in APAC
- Oversee payments related matters in APAC, including reviewing contracts and cooperation with payment processors
- Work with the delivery team on tariffs matters and advise from a legal perspective
- Negotiate, draft and review a broad range of commercial contracts, policies, guidance, corporate documentation and other legal documentation
- Build compliance processes, tools, policies and training to educate relevant parts of the Farfetch Group
- Liaise with external law firms, primarily in APAC, where external local support is needed
- Supervise and support legal counsel, particularly a local Legal Counsel based in mainland China
- Support the Head of Legal, Regulatory and Group Legal VP on legal matters and ensure compliance
