Join Talkdesk's Bengaluru Engineering team as a Software Engineer I and contribute to building highly scalable, secure, and reliable enterprise-grade SaaS contact center software. You'll work with a modern microservices architecture on AWS, supporting millions of real-time interactions across voice and digital channels. This role offers end-to-end ownership of services, combining cutting-edge technology with a DevOps mindset to deliver features that meet the highest reliability standards.
In this position, you'll design, implement, and maintain SaaS services hosted on AWS while working in an agile environment with continuous deployment and automated testing. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Principal Engineers, SRE, and Platform teams to ensure comprehensive alignment on design and implementation. With a focus on security, reliability, and telemetry as first principles, you'll own your microservices end-to-end, participate in on-call rotations, and drive continuous improvement through incident analysis and technical debt management.

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test and maintain SaaS services and features hosted on AWS, ensuring they are completed on time and meet quality and five 9's reliability standards
- Work in a modern agile software engineering environment with source code control, dev/stage/prod release cycle, extensive automated testing, and continuous deployment
- Manage work through the use of Github, Jira, and Talkdesk systems
- Have end to end ownership of microservices, adhere to safe deployment practices, and operate with a DevOps mindset
- Implement microservices with Security, Reliability, Telemetry as first principles and avoid technical debt
- Implement automated unit, API and functional tests in a CI/CD environment
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Principal Engineers, SRE, Platform to ensure alignment on design and implementation
- Actively participate in backlog grooming, design and code reviews
- Identify and prioritize technical debt
- Own reliability for services and participate in on-call rotation, resolve production incidents 24x7, and apply learnings from RCAs
- Conduct research and stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, making recommendations for adoption
- Ensure all engineering work is completed in compliance with industry regulations and standards
