Wind Technician I

EDP Renewables is seeking an entry-level Wind Technician I for our wind farm operations in Chalmers, Indiana. As an essential member of the Wind Farm team, you will be responsible for on-site operations, maintenance, repairs, and replacement of equipment at one of EDPR NA's wind-energy generation sites. Your responsibilities will include completing Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, conducting equipment inspections, and ensuring compliance with EDPR policies, governmental safety guidelines, and environmental regulations. In this dynamic role, you will work with wind turbines and associated plant equipment, proactively identify improvement opportunities, and serve as a safety role model for the team. You'll collaborate with EDPR's Remote Operations Control Center, document all work performed using computer-based systems, and participate in ongoing training. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a mechanical background and passion for renewable energy to launch their career in the wind energy sector. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent (technical school education preferred), 1-2 years of relevant experience in wind energy or related industry, and familiarity with maintenance equipment and computer systems. You must be physically capable of climbing turbine towers exceeding 100 meters, working in adverse weather conditions, and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
