Talkdesk is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer specializing in Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (FSI) to join our Solution Engineering & Shared Services team in Jersey City. As an expert in SaaS solutions, you will provide business-driven consulting to both prospective and existing customers, leveraging deep industry expertise to establish clear value and differentiation in our AI-powered Contact Center and Customer Experience solutions. You will be a seasoned practitioner recognized as a thought leader, confidently supporting C-level discussions and accelerating deal cycles for small to medium-sized enterprises. In this role, you will conduct discovery conversations to understand customer needs, design and deliver compelling presentations showcasing Talkdesk's capabilities, and generate value statements illustrating financial benefits. You will engage throughout the entire sales lifecycle—from pre-sales engineering and technical qualification to solution architecture and post-sale expansion. Additionally, you will scope and manage customer pilots and POCs, respond to RFI/RFP requirements, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure customer feedback shapes our product roadmaps. You bring 8+ years of Solutions Engineering experience in SaaS, with a strong background in selling to mid-market and enterprise organizations. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, combined with excellent presentation skills, makes you an ideal candidate to help shape the future of customer experience automation.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts research to prepare for upcoming meetings with prospects to understand their business environment, market, customers, competitors and general business challenges
  • Carries out discovery conversations with customers to understand their needs and requirements for a new solution
  • Uncovers customer pains, learns about customer's objectives and potential needs, gathers metrics necessary for pricing and/or value discussions
  • Uses in-depth knowledge of Talkdesk solutions and capabilities to specify the appropriate solution(s) for customer needs and requirements
  • Designs and delivers presentations to customers, on-site & virtual, showing Talkdesk's capabilities, aligned to the customer's pains and needs
  • Generates simple value statements illustrating the financial value of a Talkdesk solution to customers
  • Assists with scoping SOWs for customer implementations as needed
  • Scopes, executes and manages customer pilots and POCs
  • Respond to functional and technical RFI/RFP requirements and mapping said requirements to the software solution
  • Work closely with product management and engineering teams to ensure that customer feedback is incorporated into product roadmaps
  • Assists with marketing and demand generation events as necessary
