Talkdesk is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead strategic Healthcare & Life Sciences customer implementation projects from inception to completion. In this role, you will manage multiple complex, multi-location deployments simultaneously, working closely with customers, partners, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery. You'll be responsible for defining project scope, managing timelines and budgets, identifying and mitigating risks, and conducting executive business reviews to keep stakeholders informed of progress and dependencies.
This position requires strong technical project management expertise combined with deep knowledge of the healthcare and life sciences industry. You'll partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Support teams to drive feature delivery and resolve issues, while also participating in the sales cycle to shape implementation strategies. Your accountability extends to conducting post-mortems, analyzing root causes, and implementing process improvements to enhance future project performance.
The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of technical project management experience (preferably client-facing) and 5+ years working with healthcare or life sciences organizations in a SaaS environment. You should possess exceptional communication skills, C-level relationship management capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead Talkdesk's Strategic Healthcare & Life Sciences customer implementation projects from kick-off to completion
- Define project scope, schedule project activities, and integrate those into the broader project plan with customer project managers
- Manage multiple customer projects simultaneously, working with customers, partners, and internal solutions consultants to drive progress across multi-location and multi-phase deployments
- Proactively identify risks pertaining to time, scope, and budget, and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies with clear communication plans for all stakeholders
- Conduct regular status meetings with customers and team to assess progress against plan and perform re-forecasts as necessary
- Conduct executive business reviews throughout implementation outlining project status, open risks, and success dependencies
- Understand customer use cases, formulate best practices, and document functional and technical requirements
- Partner with internal teams such as Product, Engineering, and Support to ensure timely delivery of feature requests, bug fixes, and support requests
- Participate in the sales cycle to formulate delivery approach and develop proposals and statements of work
- Conduct post-mortems with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate project performance and lead root cause analysis
- Drive professional accountability for overall project success and ensure Key Performance Indicators are met
