
Enterprise Account Executive, Public Sector

Talkdesk is seeking an experienced Enterprise Account Executive to drive new business development and expand relationships within large enterprise accounts in the Public Sector. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the complete sales lifecycle, from initial engagement through deal closure, while fostering strategic partnerships and understanding customers' long-term business objectives. You will develop comprehensive sales strategies, manage complex enterprise deals, and work collaboratively with Sales Engineers, Professional Services, and executive leadership to deliver innovative solutions that showcase Talkdesk's competitive advantages. With 8+ years of direct sales experience in SaaS and enterprise software solutions, you will bring strong business acumen, strategic value-based selling expertise, and proven ability to exceed quota targets. This position requires 50%+ travel and offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while contributing to Talkdesk's mission of redefining customer experiences globally. You will build lasting relationships with CXO and senior management-level contacts while driving substantial revenue growth and scaling bookings across your territory.
Responsibilities
- Drive new business development within large enterprise accounts and close opportunities in Public Sector segments
- Foster and expand relationships with business units, divisions, and overall enterprise customers
- Create and cultivate close relationships with strategic alliances
- Understand customer business strategy and manage long-term, sustainable business portfolios
- Manage end-to-end sales process through engagement of Sales Engineers, Professional Services, Executives, and Partners
- Present innovative ideas that showcase Talkdesk's competitive advantage and disruptive mindset
- Meet and exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets and quotas
- Develop comprehensive sales strategy and plans ensuring consistent achievement of short and long-term objectives
- Build lasting relationships with management, team members, and prospect/customer community
- Align with Talkdesk Go-to-Market plan and develop accountability for market segmentation and targeted accounts
- Communicate accurate and realistic forecast information to management per established processes
- Communicate market reactions and customer needs back to headquarters
- Solve cross-functional problems collaboratively with other departments
- Prioritize customer needs to ensure engineering and other areas focus on appropriate tasks
