Farfetch, a leading global luxury fashion marketplace, is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive strategic partnerships across North America (US + Canada). In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with the Head of Commercial to develop and implement business development strategy, representing Farfetch to premium brands and boutiques while serving as the primary point of contact for new supply partners. You'll be instrumental in translating strategic initiatives into tactical operational plans and managing complex cross-functional projects that directly impact the success of our business. Your responsibilities will include developing short, medium, and long-term business strategy for the North America region, staying current with industry trends, supporting partnership expansions and contract renewals, and traveling to pitch the Farfetch marketplace to relevant industry businesses. You will work cross-functionally with Commercial Planning, Account Management, and Operations teams to ensure ongoing relationships with supply partners and facilitate ad-hoc commercial agreements that generate additional revenue. The ideal candidate is an analytical, commercially-minded strategic thinker with 4-6 years of B2B business development or sales experience, preferably in fashion or luxury. You should have strong relationships within the luxury, ecommerce, or retail sectors, excellent project management skills, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders. A bachelor's degree with strong quantitative components, proficiency in Excel and Google Slides, and comfort working in fast-paced environments with occasional ambiguity are essential.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Head of Commercial on business development strategy for North America (US + Canada)
- Develop and implement short, medium, and long-term business development strategies
- Support current business development workstreams and hit the ground running
- Stay updated on industry trends and challenges; pivot strategy based on business needs
- Understand luxury ecommerce industry specificities and monitor competitor channels
- Support partnership expansions and contract renewals
- Design and implement ad-hoc commercial agreements to generate revenue
- Maintain and facilitate ongoing relationships with potential supply partners
- Travel to pitch Farfetch marketplace to relevant industry businesses across continental US and Canada
- Manage complex cross-functional projects and influence change with senior stakeholders
