EDP Renewables seeks an experienced Wind Technician II for our Prairie Queen Wind Farm in Moran, Kansas. As an intermediate-level technician, you will be responsible for on-site operations, maintenance, repairs, and replacement of equipment at our operating wind energy generation site. Your daily tasks will include completing Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, conducting safety inspections, and maintaining comprehensive documentation to ensure safe and compliant turbine operations. You will play a vital role in ensuring the proper operation of wind turbines and associated equipment, including substations and tower switchgear. This position offers the opportunity to proactively identify process improvements, work with our Remote Operations Control Center, and contribute to a global leader in renewable energy. You will be expected to comply with all environmental, health, and safety programs while demonstrating strong initiative and integrity. This is a full-time, onsite position ideal for candidates with 2-5 years of relevant wind energy or related industry experience who are prepared to advance their career with a top employer committed to the energy transition.
Responsabilidades
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of wind turbines and associated wind plant equipment, including substation and tower switchgear
- Proactively identify and implement improvement opportunities to job-appropriate processes and procedures
- Communicate through appropriate channels and implement improvements using the appropriate control management protocol
- Seek assistance when encountering turbine issues outside trained skill level to ensure resolution success
- Comply with all pertinent environmental health and safety programs and act as a safety role model
- Perform data collection and prepare reports to meet reporting requirements
- Work with and respond to EDPR's Remote Operations Control Center to coordinate remote operations
- Perform QA/QC inspections in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures
- Facilitate periodic equipment inspections and reporting
- Document all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures
- Complete all required training in a satisfactory manner and timeframe
- Adhere to internal controls in effect
- Conduct inspections of equipment, tools, and facilities for compliance with EDPR policies, governmental safety guidelines, and environmental regulations
- Complete Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), Tail Board, and required documentation
