EDP Renewables North America, a global leader in renewable energy operating in over 25 markets, is seeking an experienced professional to lead short- and medium-term asset optimization for its growing MISO & PJM renewable energy portfolio. In this role, you will develop and implement power scheduling and hedging strategies to maximize the value of EDP's merchant position in wholesale electricity markets while ensuring compliance with risk policies and regulatory requirements. You will manage day-ahead scheduling, execute power hedges, procure basis hedges, and oversee capacity sales through auctions and bilateral agreements. This position requires advanced hands-on experience in MISO & PJM power market dynamics, hedging and trading strategies, and demonstrated ability to leverage data analytics to enhance performance. You will work closely with risk, compliance, and asset operations teams to monitor portfolio performance, analyze market trends, and recommend strategies to maximize value. Your responsibilities will include developing robust trading strategies, managing exposure and regulatory compliance, supporting short-medium term Power Purchase Agreements, and fostering collaboration with internal departments and external stakeholders including ISOs/RTOs. Responsabilidades

  • Develop and implement robust power scheduling and trading strategies for MISO and PJM wholesale markets
  • Develop and manage hedging strategies for spot electricity prices, basis, and capacity
  • Execute day-ahead scheduling activities, power hedges, and basis hedges procurement (FTRs/CRRs/TCRs)
  • Manage capacity sales through auctions and bilateral agreements
  • Optimize EDP's merchant portfolio in alignment with Energy Management goals
  • Develop and implement proprietary trading strategies including virtuals, power futures, and FTRs
  • Monitor and analyze power market trends, regulatory changes, and factors affecting prices and risk
  • Work with risk and compliance teams to ensure exposure monitoring and adherence to policies
  • Monitor and report on portfolio performance and related trading books
  • Leverage data analytics and technology to enhance trading performance
  • Support structuring and execution of short-medium term Power Purchase Agreements
  • Foster collaboration with internal departments and external stakeholders
  • Participate in special projects as assigned
