Storage & Virtualization Systems Engineer (m/f/d)

In this IT role, you will manage, develop, and support the technology infrastructure that powers Kuehne+Nagel's global systems and operations. As a Storage & Virtualization Systems Engineer in Global Data Center Operations, you will design, run, and improve large, critical compute and storage systems across multiple data centers, helping shape global platform architecture, ensure systems are standardized and reliable, and support 24/7 operations in a worldwide environment.

You will design, operate, and optimize large-scale compute and storage platforms across global data centers and hybrid environments. This includes building and standardizing VMware-based platforms, managing x86 servers, designing and operating enterprise storage solutions, and defining backup and disaster recovery strategies. You will lead global infrastructure projects such as migrations, upgrades, standardization, and decommissioning while improving operations through automation and scripting.

Your responsibilities will also include acting as an escalation point for incidents, performing root cause analysis and remediation, collaborating with cross-functional teams, maintaining documentation and standards, and supporting 24/7 follow-the-sun operations with on-call rotations.
