Senior Insurance Accountant – Fluent in English – M/F/X – Porto – Open Ended Contract – Hybrid

Join BNP Paribas Cardif as a Senior Insurance Accountant in Porto and become part of our dynamic European Service Center, where over 600 multicultural professionals deliver excellence in insurance accounting. You will be responsible for insurance accounting data in multi-standards (FGAAP and IFRS), ensuring fair taxation and high-quality financial reporting. Your day-to-day activities will include analyzing and justifying accounts, formalizing audit trails, coordinating with stakeholders, and performing detailed account analyses for the Balance Sheet and Income Statement.

Your key missions will span day-to-day accounting operations, quarterly closing processes in local GAAP and IFRS standards, and various strategic projects that contribute to departmental management. You will work closely with finance reporting, IT, actuarial services, and internal control teams to drive operational improvements and implement necessary changes. We are seeking a candidate with a degree in accounting, finance, or audit, backed by 6-10 years of professional experience in equivalent positions. You must be fluent in English (C1 level mandatory), with consolidated insurance accounting knowledge and previous experience with IFRS norms (ideally IFRS17 and 9). Proficiency in accounting tools such as SAP, Oracle, or CODA, alongside office tools like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is essential. Fluency in French is highly valued.
